Opened in 1991 and purchased in 1992 by Arthur and Mimi Pearl. The ‘Diner’ is now a fixture in Poway, serving classic comfort food at family prices. In a 2010 readers poll in Rancho Magazine, the Diner was voted the ‘Best Children’s Menu’ and ‘Best Bargain’.
Every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm (April thru October) they have a ‘cruise nite’. Music, awards, 50/50 drawing, and raffles, make it a fun evening.
Their specialties include: the chicken pie, of course, chicken fingers that tastes like chicken, a pulled pork sandwich that you’d swear came straight from the Carolina's, cat fish, chicken fried steak that fills the plate, and what’s a diner without great burgers, we bake our own buns, and shakes. It’s a huge menu for such a small place.
Senior Nite is Monday, and a complete chicken pie dinner is only $5.95.
The ‘Diner’ has a great staff that makes for a welcoming and relaxed ambiance. And speaking of ambiance, the walls are covered with old photos of some of your favorite movie, TV, and music stars from the past.
Open 7 days a week at 11:00 AM for lunch and dinner. Be there, or be Square!
